LMS News

Many weather reports indicate a high probability of a significant storm impacting our area this weekend. As a result, there is a strong likelihood that we may have our first Flexible Instructional Day (FID) of the year on Monday, Jan. 26. As with any inclement weather, we will make a decision as early as possible to give staff and families time to prepare for a possible schedule change.

Please remind your child(ren) to bring their iPads home this weekend in case we are not in school on Monday. If an FID is necessary, the following will occur:

- All student work will be asynchronous.

- Work will be posted by 8:00 a.m. for secondary students and 9:00 a.m. for elementary students.

- Teachers will hold three 30-minute blocks of time for students to connect with them via email, Schoology messages, and Google Meets. The times are 9:15-9:45 a.m., 11-11:30 a.m., and 1-1:30 p.m.

We will continue to monitor the storm closely to make an informed decision. In the meantime, please stay warm and watch for updates regarding a possible schedule change for Monday.

Open gyms and off-season workouts are currently taking place. These are a great way for you to try a sport for the first time or work on your skills in an existing sport. These sessions are voluntary. Please contact the following coaches if your son or daughter is interested in participating.

We’re selling Hempfield t-shirts to show support for our team and raise awareness for this great cause! Shirts will be sold for $20 at the game on 1/23 while supplies last!  Proceeds will go directly to Help the Fight.

Students, show your school spirit by purchasing a t-shirt and wearing it to the game on January 23rd. Game times are JV at 6 pm and Varsity at 7:30 pm. Together, we can make a difference while supporting our team! Don't miss it, and let's fill the gym with pink!
